Anise is a lovely fragrant herb with a liquorice flavour, great for adding a bit of difference to your dishes. Our anise seeds are perfect for growing your own plants whether you are an experienced gardener or just starting out. Anise has aromatic leaves and seeds, loves full sun and well drained soil, so great for herb gardens, raised beds or containers. The plant grows up to 90cm tall, with delicate feathery foliage that adds a nice texture to your garden.

Sow anise seeds in early spring for best results, either indoors for a head start or directly outdoors when the weather warms up. The seeds will germinate in about 2-3 weeks and with care you’ll have a big harvest of seeds in late summer. Whether used in cooking, baking or herbal teas fresh anise adds a sweet aromatic flavour to any dish.
